Fig and Walnut Energy Balls
- 1 cup Otto Nuts Dried Turkish figs
- 1 cup walnuts
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Shredded coconut or cocoa powder for rolling (optional)
Instructions:
-
In a food processor, add the dried Turkish figs and walnuts. Pulse until they are finely chopped and well combined.
-
Add chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the food processor. Pulse again until the mixture starts to come together. The mixture should be sticky and hold together when pressed between your fingers.
-
Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Using your hands, take small portions and roll them into bite-sized balls. If the mixture is too sticky to handle, you can lightly wet your hands with water or oil to prevent sticking.
-
If desired, roll the energy balls in shredded coconut or cocoa powder to coat the exterior. This step is optional but adds extra flavor and texture.
-
Place the energy balls on a baking sheet or plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up. This will make them easier to handle and enhance their texture.
-
Once chilled, the Fig and Walnut Energy Balls are ready to enjoy! You can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
These Fig and Walnut Energy Balls make for a healthy and satisfying snack. They are packed with natural sweetness from the dried Turkish figs, nuttiness from the walnuts, and added nutrition from chia seeds. Enjoy!
