Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Otto Nuts Dried Turkish figs
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Shredded coconut or cocoa powder for rolling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, add the dried Turkish figs and walnuts. Pulse until they are finely chopped and well combined.

  2. Add chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the food processor. Pulse again until the mixture starts to come together. The mixture should be sticky and hold together when pressed between your fingers.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Using your hands, take small portions and roll them into bite-sized balls. If the mixture is too sticky to handle, you can lightly wet your hands with water or oil to prevent sticking.

  4. If desired, roll the energy balls in shredded coconut or cocoa powder to coat the exterior. This step is optional but adds extra flavor and texture.

  5. Place the energy balls on a baking sheet or plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up. This will make them easier to handle and enhance their texture.

  6. Once chilled, the Fig and Walnut Energy Balls are ready to enjoy! You can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

These Fig and Walnut Energy Balls make for a healthy and satisfying snack. They are packed with natural sweetness from the dried Turkish figs, nuttiness from the walnuts, and added nutrition from chia seeds. Enjoy!
